New IDE features since Delphi 7 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Yuriy Kotsarenko

While checking out CodeGear's developer network, I've come across this interesting article. It outlines some of the IDE features added in recent Delphi compilers.

Some of the features, such as Block Completion are really helpful when writing code. In fact, after you get used to Delphi 2006 and then switch to a different compiler, you feel crippled.

However, it is interesting to note that many such features are available in many other IDEs. For instance, Code Folding was something new long time ago, but now it is already present in latest Lazarus IDE for FreePascal. This makes the articule more of historical nature.

Even if you are familiar with latest Delphi's features, the article is a good read anyway with its interactive animations and linked resources.

The article can be found here.
