Sentient_red.zip

Abstract shooter.
Alpha release.

Experimental dynamic difficulty, personal gameplay.

The game music is not included in this release due to filesize constraints.

Exit button does not work.
Health line is hard to recognize.

And I think, that fon is to agressive.

Thanks for having a look at the game FlyNN. The menu screen buttons do not function, click mouse to play, press ESC to quit.

The health line is a bit hard to recognise isn't it?
Are you referring to the font being aggressive?

Hi Lief,

please use poScreenCenter instead of poDesktopCenter, because on Dualscreen Systems your App is Centered with Left Half on Monitor 1 and Right Half on Monitor 2 and that's not really good ...

My comments exactly. The game starts here exactly in the middle of two monitors. You have to press Windows key to be able to withdraw mouse cursor from the game to be able to move it manually.

Nice red techno style!
Game is really stylish! With this metal explosion sound feel like spiking nails )
May be try add music (compress it to ogg) even if it extends a filesize a bit.
It should bring to the game that extra something )

Hi. Thanks for the trying the game.

Lazarus & Yuriy: Thanks for the tip, hadn't tested on the dual-screen here at work yet. I will fix and update file around 9 hours from now.

Lusiola: I also am a fan of your shooter, I like the experimental game control and concept. I replayed Fluffy Shooter after I posted sentient.red, the games could be siblings or cousins i think

The game does have music, it is of a industrial/ambient/noise genre, and really sets the mood of a dangerous unfamiliar future, will upload a mp3 pack to download and plugin.

At the moment, you can add music by creating 'MP3' folder within game folder and adding 'game.mp3' and 'title.mp3'. These can be whatever you like and will be looped indefinately.

But sounds in right channel are much louder than in left.

Very nice, although i echo the sentiment about where the ships health is. I still don't know

Noticed your .wav files are external - check out a small class I wrote for managing the extraction of files from an asdb on the fly when you start your game, and deleting of them when the game ends.

You can also place the Squall.dll inside the asdb, and use the above class to extract it, as long as you use the modifications I made to the squall sound library here:

That way, your whole game consists of 2 files to distribute!

Nice game, Lief. I enjoy the central play style with all the enemies coming to me. The indicator lines might be a little light however, which makes them hard to find at times. (Like when they're in the black regions.)

Where is the health indicator? I literally cannot find it.
